Today I returned for a second visit to this classic late‑night eatery. Any restaurant that has stayed open for 11 years in Shawei must have something special, and Weicun Da Paidang certainly does.
📍 65 Shawei East Village, Shawei Road, Futian District 🚇 190 meters from Exit B, Shawei Metro Station
Name of the shop: Weicun Dapaidang (围村大排档)
Summer is the perfect season for crayfish, so we came to Weicun Da Paidang to satisfy our cravings. We ordered the crayfish set for two.

🏆 Garlic Crayfish (1.5 kg)
I highly recommend their garlic crayfish. Among all the crayfish I’ve tried, this place ranks among the best. The dish arrived steaming hot, with a bright, glossy red color. Each crayfish was similar in size and cleaned thoroughly. I even enjoyed the creamy roe in the heads.
The meat was bouncy, plump, and incredibly satisfying. When dipped into the flavorful sauce at the bottom, the taste became even richer—salty, sweet, and deeply aromatic.

🏆 Grilled Scallops
The scallops were impressively large—three in total. Each one was carefully topped with a ring of vermicelli and garlic sauce, while the scallop in the center was intentionally left unseasoned. I recommend eating everything in one bite so the natural seafood sweetness blends perfectly with the garlic.

✔ Smashed Cucumber Salad 🥒
Refreshing, light, and not spicy at all—exactly what Guangdong locals love. A great palate cleanser.

✔ Grilled Beancurd Skin, Beef Strips, and Enoki Mushrooms
These were normal. I would rather recommend stir-fried noodle, it was decent when I tried it last time.

🌳 Environment
The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, plus small private rooms on the second floor to accommodate different group sizes. It’s a great place to enjoy late‑night food with family or friends.

💁 Service
The staff were friendly and attentive. They reminded us to discard the crayfish shells into the basin provided, which was thoughtful.
📚 Overall Impression
Overall, the experience was very satisfying. Weicun Dapaidang is one of the more established dai pai dang‑style eateries in the area. Besides late‑night dishes, they also serve claypot porridge, Chaoshan cuisine, hotpot, barbecue, and more. Many people stop by after work for a comforting meal. Worth recommending if you are nearby.
