A Flavor‑Packed Hotpot Experience with Nine‑Grid Platters and Exceptional Service in Shenzhen

This was my first time seeing a hotpot restaurant offering such an incredibly rich variety of ingredients. We ordered the clear broth pot, which came with mushrooms, tomatoes, and cucumber. It looked so appetizing the moment it arrived. Although this restaurant is known for its traditional spicy hotpot, the clear broth turned out to be surprisingly delicious as well.

Yunnan‑Style Claypot Rice Noodles in Shenzhen Dongmen: Authentic Guanguan Noodles With 20+ Toppings

Cheryl Kong | 2026-05-07

You don’t have to go all the way to Yunnan to enjoy Claypot Rice Noodles anymore! Here in Shenzhen, you can have the first try of such peculiar noodle.

📍 A new shop has opened right across from Dongmen 1234 Mall.

✨️ Even at around 8 PM, there were still plenty of people eating inside, so I decided to give it a try.

The seating area is not very spacious, and the single seats feel a bit tight.
🌱 As soon as you walk in, you’ll see 20+ types of toppings laid out in front of you :🧂 Mint leaves, celery, zhe’ergen, fermented bean curd, and more.

🍽️ What I Ordered

Mujiangzi Rice Noodles (Mild Spicy)

Although labeled “mild spicy,” the ginger flavor is extremely strong — as a Cantonese, I personally found it a bit unacceptable. It is too spicy for me.
But the ingredients and flavor are generous and rich. It comes with tomato, mujiangzi, minced meat, mint leaves, rice noodles, and more.

Wolf‑Tooth Shaped Potatoes

This dish is well‑seasoned, crispy, and very appetizing. But it also contains chinese pepper, a kind of pepper makes you feel numb in your tongue.

Ice Jelly

I don't know why it is topped with sesame. This option feels weird to me as someone who lives in Guandong Province. The taste was average.

📚 Overall Review

This food is flavorful, provides generous portions, and is worth trying if you enjoy strong Yunnan-style seasonings. But for me personally, it was a bit too spicy and not something I’d revisit. There're new restaurants like this recently open in Dongmeng. Some offers the option: claypot passion fruit rice noodles. This one sounds attractive to me so I might give it a go next time.
